Instead of meeting in the morning for Family Party on August 15th\, our families will be gathering at Wallace Park in the afternoon from 2PM to 3PM.  \nWe’ll meet at the bandstand at 2pm\, then catch up as we take a dander around the park. DESCRIPTION:Do you know someone who our church can give a gift of HOPE to?\nWe are giving Gifts of HOPE to doors. \nWe are helping tidy gardens. \nOur church wants to bring HOPE and help in local community and you may know someone who could benefit from a HOPE gift pack to their door.  \nYou can nominate someone HERE for a gift of HOPE or for garden help. \n  \nWhat is a Gift of HOPE?\nLVV give a quality pack containing items of HOPE including gifts\, sweet treats\, a hand written card of encouragement and a pocket book of HOPE or prayer. We include contact details for LVV Church and community. This gift pack is carefully dropped to each door by hand with a smile and a few gentle words of connection and encouragement.  \nWhat is garden help?\nChurch volunteers help in gardens in our community. We simply help cut grass\, plant and chat. We carry hope in community and we are a generous church. \n\nOur church wants to bring HOPE and help in local community.  Do you know someone who could benefit? Simply fill in this short application to nominate someone you know. (please ask their permission) Initially we will contact you and you will link us at LVV to the householder. We make that easy for you. \n \n  \nHOPE stories\n“Thank you for my gift bag of HOPE you brought to my door. It lifted my mood and the person was so kind. It’s nice to know people care. Thank you” \n“The Hope bag had a water bottle and sweets and lots of things for me to enjoy and your card was so nice to receive” \n“I had experienced abuse in my home and moved to a new street. My neighbours said the garden was an embarrassment to the street. It really got me down. I cannot thank you enough for my tidy garden and the bulbs coming up by my path. I love it.” \n“As a wheelchair user I could not weed the paved garden myself\, the area was too big and overgrown. You took away all the weeds and washed the paving and now I have a place outside to enjoy. Thank you” \n  \nWould you like to help?  \nYou can help us serve the person you nominate or you can volunteer at any LVV compassion opportunity. DESCRIPTION:We are called to follow Jesus\, in how He lived and how He loved.\nIt can be hard to find time to serve in the busyness of every day life. This is why we have chosen to use the natural slowing down of summer to  focus on our Love Lagan Valley initiative. Through events organised by our Compassion ministries\, our church family will spend the entire month of July serving our community. \nWe have so many different volunteering options for you to choose from. We value family and personal time\, so we’ve made it easy for you to choose a time slot that works for your schedule. This can be changed at a moment’s notice in case something comes up! You do not need to have any specific abilities or skills to take part in these visits. There is something for everyone of every age to do! Why not sign up with your family? A group of close friends? If you’ve been involved in a Huddle this past year\, why not reach out to them and see if they would be willing to join you?  \nAt the end of the month\, we will be celebrating this outpouring as a church family outside in our Church Day Out event. DESCRIPTION:Help pack and deliver to homes! \n\n“I cannot thank Lagan Valley Vineyard Church enough for the support and friendship during lockdown and the past year. It has made such a difference to me. I feel so grateful.” \nWe have hope because of the life Jesus gives us. \nOn Saturday\, June 19th we would love for you to join us as we pack and deliver gifts of HOPE to homes in the Lagan Valley Area. Each person helping will need to sign up here by name. \n\nThis is an opportunity for us to be generous to our community.  \nBags with HOPE gifts are packed by volunteers at the LVV venue\, supported by our Compassion leaders. Volunteers deliver these gifts to homes with a short social visit at the doorstep. Each person is greeted by name\, offered words of encouragement\, and we offer to pray for them. We carry the hope of Jesus to each home. Our church compassion team would love to have you involved in this outreach to our community.   \nWe guarantee you will have an amazing time filling these bags with gifts of hope and delivering to those in our community who will benefit from them – not just from the gift\, but even more so from a visit to their doorstep by a member of our church family. The bag includes gifts: \nA HOPE banner\nGarden tea-lights\nA book of HOPE about Jesus\nA “Try Praying” pocket book\nS’mores treats\nA beautiful cupcake!\nAn encouraging hand written card\nOur contact details to stay in touch \n\n \nWe are partnering with Jesus to bring Hope to each home that we go to. Our friends at Care For the Family have a free resource to help give you guidance in this area that you can access at home\, any time.  \n“A Mind of Their Own” is an hour-long event that will look at the unique opportunities and pressures facing young people today (including the COVID-19 pandemic) and explore the science of the mind\, and why children act and react the way they do. We’ll consider whether this generation is less resilient or whether there really is an epidemic of anxiety. This is a very simple\, practical opportunity for the church to gift new life and hope outdoors in our communities through simple garden volunteering. \nWould you like to help in a local garden in our community? Sign up as an individual\, a family\, or a bubble of friends to serve local people who need some garden help. \nThis opportunity is open to all ages and abilities. DESCRIPTION:Join us this Good Friday\, as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus\, our Lord of love.\nThrough worship\, communion and reflection\, we are going to gather around the cross – the centrepoint of our story. For on this night through silence\, story and song\, we gather to adore Jesus. \nCraftsman. Christ. Saviour. King. \nSign Up for free In-Person service tickets here \n  \nThe Good Friday service will also be livestreamed. As you gather with us from home\, grab some bread and wine or juice for communion\, and as we get started\, we would love for you to light a candle. \n  \n____________________________________\nSafety Protocols \nOur desire is to love one another well as we move in-person and continue online services. While the Church was never closed\, our onsite services were\, we look forward to sharing the space again with family and friends. This will look different than before and we want to share some of our safety measures; \nMasks – In order for us to increase the capacity in the auditorium we feel this step is necessary in line with public health and local medical advice. \nHand Sanitiser – there will be hand sanitising stations on entry to and exit from the building. \nCheck-in – When you enter the building we ask that you allow our trained team to check you in\, guide you through the building to your seat. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before to allow us to guide each family and individual safely through the building. \nSinging – We all love it\, however\, based on medical advice we will encourage you not to sing\, but to enjoy the live band as they lead us. Allow yourself to be creative in how you express your worship. \nWe would ask anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms or is living in a home where someone has COVID-19 symptoms refrain from attending until their isolation period is over. If you registered and begin to get symptoms before a Sunday gathering\, please let our staff team know and stay home.\nThese symptoms include: \n• A temperature \n• A new and persistent cough \n• A loss of your normal sense of taste or smell \nAll of these measures are in place as we believe this is how we take care of one another the best we can. \nWe look forward to gathering with you\, online or at home.

SUMMARY:BE THE CHURCH
DESCRIPTION:Family Meals\nThis is a moment for us to be the Church. \nAt the start of a new year\, we want to centre ourselves once again on the foundational rhythms of the Church: worship\, community and service. \nAs we live in the thick of another lockdown where we can’t gather together as we usually would\, we want to invite us all to stay connected as a family. Right from the beginning\, in our origin story in Acts\, we find the earliest disciples creating strong bonds by both the giving and the receiving of love and practical help. This collective practice of sharing and seeing one another is what has always defined the community life of Jesus’ Church. \nSo\, over the next few weeks we want to invite you and your family to join in and strengthen the bonds of our community as we give and receive in the most simple of ways – family meals. \nGIVE\nThe idea is simple. \nOver the next few weeks\, we want to offer a weekly meal to every family in our Church community with young children (under the age of 6)\, as well as everyone who is currently living on their own. \nThis is something that we all can get involved with as we make time each week to cook or buy meals\, dropping them off with a family or person that lives close by and taking time to pray a blessing over them (from a safe distance\, of course). \nTo get involved\, all you need to do is sign up here \nWhen you sign up\, our team will be in touch to connect you with a family or a person to make meals for. We’ll also give you all you need around safely dropping food off\, timings\, a blessing you can use and other helpful information. \nRECEIVE\nWhether we would like to admit it or not\, we could all do with some help right now.  \nOur team is working hard behind the scenes to connect every family with young children and everyone living by themselves who are signed up to our Church database with a weekly meal. \nIf you are in either of these categories and want to opt out from receiving a weekly meal\, please email office@laganvalleyvineyard with the subject line ‘Family Meals | Opt Out’. Don’t worry\, you won’t need to say much more than that. \nWe know that some of you have connected with LVV over the past year and may not have signed a connection card – therefore you won’t be on our Church database. If that is the case\, particularly if you would like to receive a weekly meal\, please do get in touch with us.
