SUMMARY:Home for good | Foundations course - V1
DESCRIPTION:The Home for Good Foundations course is for anyone who wants to further explore fostering\, adoption or supported lodgings. Whatever stage of the journey you are on\, we believe Foundations will equip you to better understand fostering and adoption\, and enable you to make well-informed decisions. \nWe are able to welcome up to 80 households to join this six-week course\, and will be delivering each evening’s content through presentations\, video\, storytelling and interviews as a full group\, and then using smaller breakout groups of six – ten households for discussion\, Bible study and prayer. Each breakout group will be led by our wonderful Home for Good Champions with personal experience of fostering or adoption. These groups will remain the same throughout the six weeks of the course\, enabling you to get to know each other as you journey together. \nThe course will be led by various members of the Home for Good team\, many of whom are adoptive parents and foster carers themselves\, and you’ll be able to hear a huge variety of stories and have your questions answered by people with understanding and experience. Sessions take place weekly\, every Thursday at 8pm\, for six weeks. \nWe really hope you will join us for this Foundations course! DESCRIPTION:Good Friday\nJoin us this Good Friday\, as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus\, our Lord of love. Through worship\, communion\, and reflection\, we are going to gather around the cross\, the centre point of our story. As we celebrate the wonder of the cross we will create space to be upheld by its power and undone by its grace. This poignant service will be made up of silence\, story\, and song\, we gather around the table together. \n \nAs well as gathering at the venue\, we will also be livestreaming this service. DESCRIPTION:Back in the 19th Century\, a great preacher who taught thousands to know Jesus said that whenever someone would come to visit his church and view the impressive meeting space\, he instead offered to show them the ‘boiler room’. Boiler rooms were that hot\, dirty place hidden out of sight that powered the entire space. No one was interested in seeing it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYet\, as they were directed to the basement\, they entered a room\, where over 100 people were praying. “This\,” said the preacher\, “is the boiler room.” \nBehind this grand church was this small space where a ministry that reached thousands\, a church that thrived\, and a foundation of prayer grew. A ministry that prevailed\, upheld\, and contended for more. DESCRIPTION:As we prepare for arguably the most important date in the Christian calendar (Resurrection Sunday/Easter) we are once again embracing the rhythms of family discipleship during the weeks leading up to Easter.\nThese weeks known as Lent\, or The Great Fast\, are an extended time set aside to prepare the Church to enter into the resurrection of Christ. Over the space of 6 weeks we consecrate ourselves through the practice of fasting.
