CAP Money

We are delighted to offer the CAP Money Course to our wider community.

Our CAP Money courses teach people budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. In just a few weeks, you can get to grips with your finances so you can budget, save, and prevent debt.

Whether you already feel organised financially or you feel the panic rising when you think about your money,  our CAP Money Courses will help you take complete control of your finances.

As we all face economic uncertainty, we believe CAP is a gift for us and for the Lagan Valley.

What is Compassion?

Our Compassion Ministry is right at the heart of who we are as we seek to see the life and the love of Jesus bless every person and every part of the Lagan Valley.

Throughout the year, we create environments for you to serve our community in the most practical and creative ways. Everyone gets to join in with home and garden makeovers, giving generously, helping people with food and fuel needs, connecting people with partner organisations, and by doing what we do best – conversation and prayer.

Compassion Volunteers give time and skills to help people in their homes or local communities. When we do, we learn about what God’s love looks like in action. We call this “seeing God’s Kingdom come” around us. When the church helps with their hands, it often helps others experience the love and life of Jesus in a meaningful way. Jesus’ shows His love through the church being generous and proactive with honest lives.

There are incredible stories of people finding hope, healing, community, health and even employment and release from debt or fear through the power of the Holy Spirit. It all starts when we help. How amazing that one or two hours of your time could change a life in a remarkable way!

Lots of people around our church family feel inspired to bring God’s hope into community and share the love of Jesus. As a church family we talk of taking new ground spiritually and with our whole selves. What does new ground look like in Compassion in our wider community? We want to explore this with activity together!

Maybe you’re new to our LVV family, want your kids or teens to experience serving with you, or you’d like to join others in something meaningful. You do not need to have any experience or tools! They will be provided for you by our trusted volunteers.

Join us in homes throughout the year to help people find hope. Work gently alongside someone to help declutter their home so that they can recover or regain routine that restores health. Paint their rooms, deliver furniture, or even tidy their kitchen. All of these options can lift someone up when they are struggling!

Why not get a group together to help spread the love and joy even further? It’s never a bad idea to invite others in when it comes to serving our local community. By giving a little time to bring joy and hope to someone else who needs it, you can find both friendship and fun with others from our church family!

We are currently in need of people to serve.
We serve with a ‘go your own pace’ mentality. You’ll be part of a pair or a larger team and be given good understanding and support from Yvette or Regina in Compassion LVV.

Please email compassion@laganvalleyvineyard.com or chat to our welcome and connection team on Sundays to nominate or volunteer.
